Family Engagement Questions

At Wilbur’s Happle Tree, we learn about hospitality! Let’s pretend you are going to a friend’s house to play. As the host, your friend’s job is to make you feel special and loved. Think about how you would like to be treated when:

• You ask to play with your friend’s favorite toy. Which response would make you feel like a special guest: “No, that’s my toy.” – or – “Yes, you may play my toy!”
• You ask your friend to play a game that looks really fun. Which response would make you feel loved:
  “No, that’s boring. I don’t want to play that game.” – or – “Sure, that will be fun. Let’s play!”

Now that you’ve thought about how you’d like to be treated, remember to treat your guests the same way!
